Last year about this time, someone (I thought maybe Vern) suggested a really good income tax program they found on line.  It allowed for about 5 uses IIRC.  Also, it didn't specifically ask for a set amount but instead asked users that if they found the program useful they might consider making a donation in whatever amount they felt suitable.

I used the  program, found it very user friendly and want use it this year too.  My wife, it seems uninstalled the program from our computer and for the life of me I cannot remember what it was called.  Does anyone out there remember the program/service I am talking about and if so could you please post the link again?  Thanks.

Not quite.  It wasn't H&R Block.  The program I'm thinking of was mentioned as a counterpoint to H&R in the thread.

ArmyVern's Studiotax post

"StudioTax is a windows bilingual personal Income Tax preparation software made by Canadians for Canadians. StudioTax is distributed using a free licensing model. No license key or registration is required to download, install and use StudioTax. After you use StudioTax and you find it useful, we ask that you take the time to make a modest monetary contribution toward the support of this product."

I have been pretty happy with Genutax.  I paid $40 for it a few years ago, but they've since made it free.

I second Studio Tax. Completely free and certified by CRA. I have used for my last six Tax Returns, and very happy with it.

Zero complaints.
