Hi every body.
I have a bachelor  degree in electrical engineering. I am really interested in designing. I would like to know if I have any chance to be a P. Eng as EGS or ED tech. After how many years I can get posting to 1 ESU or 86 ASU. What are the advantages to be a construction superintendent instead of construction engineer. As you noticed english is not my first language. Thank you for the answers.

If you join as an ED or EGS Tech, you'll be primarily conducting apprentice tasks, not doing any designing (at least not in the way you're thinking). You'll be starting out as a Pte and employed as such.

The CF puts it's members where it needs them. The Career Manager would be the only one who would be able to answer this, but what I do know of 1 ESU, is that it's not normally considered as a first posting, but I could be wrong there.

From what I understand, CE Supt is a QL6B qualification, and not offered prior to being slotted to becoming a WO. It is a subset of the Construction Engineer side.

If I were you, with a degree and wanting to more be on the designing / planning side of things on the CE side, I'd try to gain entry into the CF as an Officer. If you enter on the NCM side, you're not going to be doing what you think you'll be doing.... :2c:

Capt Happy just said it, but to reiterate, you should consider going officer stream for enrollment with the CF if you are a P.Eng. If you want to "design" then the CE side of the beaver lodge will offer opportunity. Good luck.
