CATO or rules governing parents (whom may have children under their authority) in command ?  What are the practices
and are they different whether in training or in action etc. ?

NDA prohibits deployment of CAF members under 18 years of age to combat zones.

CATOs, as I recall, cover cadets, who are not CAF members.

My bad.  Should have not brought up Cato.  Question was more for Reg and Prime Res.  Hypothetically if a parent (Officer) would have a child(adult) under their authority.  What are the rules and common practices the CF follows?  Thank you

While not touching on parent / child situations, DAOD 5019-1 would be the first place to start.
