Here is the situation, short version got 2 TCAT back to back for a badly injured ankle, on top of that i got diagnose for a major depression and PTSD.  Now back in March i saw my MO for a medical and he gave me a chit with a "recommended PCAT" mention.  i understand that after 2 TCAT it's going to Ottawa.  But i would like to know
what happens after he hands me that chit ?  did i had anything to sign ? what are the chance for me to stay ? i have already 14 years in.

I heard about the disclosure package, that's another question ! Who will give me the package MO or a clerk at my unit ( JPSU ) ?

is it true that if you are already over at JPSU your chance to go back in service are pretty slims ( worst if you have PTSD ) ?

wow this hole one question thing turned out to be way more than one.

Thanks for your help.

As has been said on this site in the past, your best bet for advise is to contact your MO about the chit and related admin to it.  In terms of your AR/MEL disclosure pack, when it arrives, it will come addressed to your CO with direction for him/her how to disclose the file to you and subsequent notifications to the AR/MEL case analyst.  Thus I would find it very inappropriate for a desk clerk to hand the file to you unless they are in your direct chain of command.  Do ensure your JPSU chain of command is apprised of any new med chits issued and be ready to give them a copy for your div file.

As you are posted to a JPSU, you should consult with your JPSU chain of command as to how they convene the divisional meeting to disclose this to you, but I would except at the bare minimum a Lt(N)/Capt or higher to be present when the disclosure is made.  Either way, D Med Pol/ DMCA 3 take a VERY long time to even get the PCAT out (typically 6 months), and then about another 6 months to a year to get the actual disclosure package to you.  Are you already on a retention arrangement?  If not and it comes up you do not meet U of S and are considered for retention, then your clock has not even started ticking yet :), it won't tick until are the AR/MEL is complete.  Again, These things are slow (helps that pension).

I have a buddy who got the PTSD and depression PCAT, however every case is unique, thus his circumstances will not be shared as different outcomes do happen.  Mental health is in constant daily change in the service.

Summary:
question about med chit hits - talk to local MO
questions about AR/MEL - talk to your CoC (DivO or higher) or JPSU/IPSCs SMEs --- do not contact D Med Pol / DMCA 3 (your CoC can)
question about breach of U of S - talk to your local MO that considered the PCAT, AR/MEL is the final answer though
retention options - career manager

Obviously donaldK didn't bother to check your profile, so I wouldn't put much faith in the response above as it's putting the cart before the horse.

If as you say, you are going onto a 2nd TCAT and the MO is recommending a PCAT, it's not the greatest of scenario's but you're in for the long haul now.  Nevertheless, that med info goes to D Med Pol for review and a decision.  Which could be a 3rd TCAT or it could be assignment of a PCAT. If the PCAT breaches UoS or is below MOS ID standards, it will trigger an AR/MEL and you will be notified through your CoC once the AR/MEL Notification msg is issued.

In the interim, there is not much you can do other than wait for the AR/MEL message and/or try and improve your condition as best you can.  You are a LONG way out from both the disclosure process and dealing with your local IPSC/JPSU.

Good luck!

You will have people tell you very long times for everything to happen - don't believe it. They have taken steps to streamline the process including emailing the disclosure packages rather than throwing them in the mail.  Everything is done via email which has taken out some of the lag time.  Where as it used to be a given 2 or 3 years at best it can be done in a year now.  You will be assessed Low Risk or High Risk.  Low risk your CO can determine to keep you with or without career restrictions.  High Risk means you will be given a chance to submit a representation within 15 days (full time mbrs)/30 days (Cl A reserves)  if you want to stay in and believe you have a case.  This representation is to convince them not to release you.  We recently had 3 successful representations.

DAA is right, if you want to stay then improve yourself as best you can.  In the meantime to better prepare yourself for the worst you should attend the scan and medscan seminars as soon as you can. Attend both as they have different information.  The base there should be running some throughout the year.

IPSC/JPSU is usually for people that are waiting on release so yeah - most people that go there do end up released.

Good luck.

Adding to DAA's streamling comment, my SISIP contact mentioned this month that he is observing PCAT to release as quickly as 30 days in Nova Scotia now. This is 3rd hand info, so take it for what it worth.

The days of hanging on by fingernails (appeals, accomdation ect...) appear to be over.
