Since I can not spell prison, here you go.

LOL!

OK I have an example of a posted warning on board a Navy vessel.

I saw it while I was working on board as a civilian contractor in the dry docks in Esquimalt.

Anyone who has lived there for a while, may remember the Russian fishing vessel that caught fire, and burned very intensely for about 2 days with about 2 tonnes of amonia in the hull. It was about 6-7 years ago now. That was the day lots of us got laid-off, since half the available work literaly went up in smoke.

Anyway, back to the point, One day I was working next to a room that was closed off. There was a sign on the door, not a flimsy paper sign there for civilian benefit, but a full plastic permanent sign that detailed the possible punishment for unauthorised entery into that room.

The was a bunch of stuff I don‘t remember in smaller print, but there was 3 levels in clear print of punishment for particular infractions.

1.) Up to 7 years inprisonment for unauthorised entry.

2.) If you are found observing/reading materials in the room unauthorised, you could face up to 14 years inprisonment.

3.)If you are found copying, photographing, transmiting, or telling anyone about any sensitive material you viewed inside. You could be tried for treason on board the ship, and the punishment could range up to and include, being shot.

Thats the part that really stuck with me. You could be shot. Now It is possible that the punishment of death was applicable during wartime only, as I said there was some stuff on there that I‘ve forgotten.

What I didn‘t forget was the threat of death posted in big letters on the door on that boat. So before anyone posts saying I‘m full of it, and trying to quote some random passage in military law, I just want to say. On that day there was a sign, I read it, I know that it said you could be shot. Take it as you will. Who knows, maybe it was just a very elaborate hoax to keep us civilians out of the beer storage room :blotto: .

For amounts of beer that could be in this room please watch "Band Of Brothers: Episode 10"
