So I did some searching, but coulldn't find anything on the topic.  I was just wondering what sort of physical training facilities, if any, are available on the larger ships of the Canadian fleet?  Is there room anywhere to run?  What about weight training?  I've never been on any of these ships before to see for myself.

Thanks!

Running = Flight deck

Weights = Gym equipment at various locations around the ship where space is available.

On the Preserver.  You are able to run on the upper decks and can do laps of the ship.  In the hangar as we do not carry an Air Det anymore we have an extensive gym set up.  Free weights, Bowflex, Treadmills, Arc Trainers, Stationary Bikes, other stuff too.  We are lucky as we have the room to set it up.  Very popular with the fitness crowd.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys.  Good to know there's ways to stay in shape on board.

Just out of curiosity, is weight training at sea similar to getting your 'sea legs', or do things get a little hectic trying to do squats while the boat is rockin'?  :)

Cheers.
