Transporting heavy and bulky ore 2100km through the rockies is one thing, going 280km to Swan River or 400km to Dauphin across the prairies with minor hills is another. Both are already tied in to Tisdale on the CN main line. Just spitballing either way.
The best solution I suspect will depend upon the when of development. Kitimat is already there and can start quickly so that balances out some of the expenses of transportation, plus it boasts access to the entire Asia market. Dauphin could certainly us the industry and would be good once everything was in place so I am guessing that the timing on getting the product to market will dictate the next move.
 
Reporting is a little confusing. Graphics scream 'Line 5' but reporter says not. According to Enbridge, Line 5 is not a compressed natural gas line, but does carry "natural gas liquids".
