Poison gas attack in Bulgaria
SOFIA - Dozens of people have been injured in the Bulgarian capital, after a man hurled a canister of poisonous gas into a crowded government office.
Forty-four people are in hospital. Four people are seriously injured and one is in critical condition.
The Bulgarian health ministry has identified the substance as a pesticide that has also been used as a military-grade tear gas. It can be extremely dangerous, causing acute lung inflammation.
Police says they are investigating the attack and have detained a 50-year-old man for questioning.
