I’ve probably seen ten or twelve videos from today’s shooting, including this one and a couple others showing portions of the actual fight and takedown. Absolutely magnificent work by that officer getting back in the fight, moving past his wounded partner, continuing with his off hand when his right arm was wounded, making sure the threat was concretely stopped (dude still had a rifle close at hand), and then self-applying the tourniquet. Incredible survivor mentality. I’ve read though not yet seen confirmed that this dude recently completed his army enlistment.
The shooter was seriously kitted up. Semiauto rifle, looked like armour and a helmet. He was driving through town shooting at people out his car window. Apparently he murdered three family members at his home at the start of everything.
