Political impacts of Ukraine war

Not the usual suspects.

Whatever it is, it's an internal NATO matter. Whatever NATO is planning on doing amongst its members doesn't need to be part of a Ukraine-Russia peace settlement.
until Russia tries to make no NATO forces in Ukraine part of it's requirements for peace, or starts to rattle sabers about it post peace deal. Best to spell stuff out like that ahead of time.

That's point 8 of the European proposal.

At any rate, they're essentially proposing land for peace and leaving open a door for NATO membership. Better late than never.

Some fun wheels-within-wheels for the intelligence nerds. Non-paywalled from the Wall Street Journal about the leak of someone’s foreign signals intelligence penetration of the call between the U.S. envoy and the Russian foreign minister over the Ukraine peace plan. https://archive.is/3USc6

Someone somewhere decided to burn their SIGINT foreign intelligence collection capability - probably an exploit of one of the actual physical phone devices - to get word out about this backroom dealing. I wonder which European SIGINT agency this was?

This release is a subtle but potentially very important indicator of Europe pushing back against U.S. efforts to sell out Ukraine to Russia.

Mr. Lines on Maps put out a video yesterday regarding the very same thing.

And further on the topic.

Bet Israel did the phone tap. Stay one up on Trump in case he thinks he can do something to Israel which is not in their interest.

The math behind the current push from Washington to get a deal done.

The data this account is using is from a known and very Russian biased source. Not saying everything is butterflies, but take any mapping of any territorial changes either side claims with a heaping grain of salt. Especially right now with how thick the fog of war is currently.

That guy’s Hungarian, so be wary of what he’s reporting.

Got any better sources?

It's a graph that shows a linear progression. It shows that Russian gains are getting easier and are growing exponentially.

Your post wreaks of "this isn't saying what I want it to say, therefore, it must be wrong".

It's gotten so bad that all the usual sources have just stopped reporting. Wikipedia stopped updating their maps in September after the latest Russian push. Maps they had updated daily since the beginning of the war.

I don’t have any other then this one that I’ve been using for tue last 2yrs -https://liveuamap.com/ but as someone else pointed out, his information is skewed.

Or this Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, November 26, 2025

The reality on the battlefield indicates that a Russian victory in Ukraine is far from certain, however. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian military commanders have been attempting to portray Russia as capable of rapidly seizing Donetsk Oblast militarily, but hard data on the rate of Russian advance in Donetsk Oblast does not indicate that Russian forces will imminently seize the rest of the oblast

The Russian rate of advance across the theater intensified since the Alaska summit on August 15, with Russian forces advancing an average of 9.3 square kilometers per day across the entire theater, between August 15 and November 20, but these advances are still constrained to footpace.[3] Russian forces could seize the remainder of Ukrainian-held Donetsk Oblast by August 2027, assuming a constant Russian rate of advance.[

Recent Russian advances elsewhere on the frontline have largely been opportunistic and exploited seasonal weather conditions.
