PRC 2080

Does anybody in the NDHQ actually follow the current war in Ukraine?
And what usually happens to people on a battlefield who use personal electronic devices?
The Ukrainians are using a variety of encrypted and unencrypted messaging services for C2: Signal, Discord, and VFH. LTE is everywhere, the idea that having a phone is going to lead to you being located and struck is frankly silly. Now should you be using social media with location sharing on a personal phone? Obviously not. Devices themselves though?

So checking in on FB at the FUP is a bad idea?

:ROFLMAO:

You can't even use the PRC 2080 on the range because the butts block the signal. Who thought that a radio that only works with line-of-sight was a good idea.

None of our gear is manufactured in Quebec although some distributors have HQs there.

I'd also like to add that if PRes units (or anyone outside a big CA base) are having problems with Range Comms, put in a EITSM ticket to the local base asking for SEARS handheld radios and an admin channel for the duration of your event. Big bases have these and a small loaner pool...
