Not with standing the quaint but outdated habit of making Brits Colonel in Chiefs of Regiments, what is this man doing in a Canadian Army Colonel's uniform during at least two recent visits to Canada? Yes, the same Edward Windsor that quit the Royal Marines in 1986 during training and to my knowledge never served another day in the Brit Forces let alone the Canadian Forces. I always though impersonating an Army officer was an offense. I am sure Mr Windsor is a very competent PR guru in his native UK, but it really galls me to see him masquerading as a member of the CF. Reminds me of Andrew in 1992 wearing both Canadian jump and pilot's wings though he had qualified for neither.

Would that habit include Lady Patricia?  Just curious.

He's Colonel-in-Chief of at least two Canadian regiments, The North Saskatchewan Regiment and The Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment, he's entitled to wear their uniform including the rank - just as honoraries are.

Just like how the Countess of Wessex is Colonel-in-Chief of the Lincoln and Welland regiment and on her visit also wore combats with corresponding rank. I think as far as I can tell that's the norm when the drop by... Course' I haven't been in long enough to know any different. :)

You likely saw him also wearing a maroon beret - he was the Colonel in Chief of the Airborne Regiment.
