This announcement from the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's):

Family and Friends of the Regiment,

By now you likely will have seen the news story regarding the death of Pte Samuel Nadeau. Pte Nadeau was a new recruit with the Hussars who was undergoing BMQ(Land) training at the 5 Cdn Div Trg Centre in Gagetown at the time of his death. By all accounts, Pte Nadeau was a pleasant, motivated and energetic young man with a quick wit, and he was well regarded by his peers. That he died was a tragedy; this BMQ group of new Hussars were very close and his death has impacted them all deeply. First and foremost I will assure you all that every measure of support to the family is being provided by the Regiment and all support required to assist the other BMQ candidates with the loss of their comrade is being provided by the team at the 5 Div Trg Centre and the base.
While there is always speculation and rumour surrounding these incidents, there is an ongoing MP investigation so it is inappropriate for me to discuss any details of the incident until the investigation is complete. Irrespective of cause, the key point here is that the loss of a 17 year old son and brother is devastating to his family.
Since the official announcement, I have received emails and calls of condolence and support from virtually every corner of the Corps; for this I thank each and every one of you and assure you that your messages will be passed to the family as we continue to support them through this difficult time.
For any who would be in the area, there is a funeral scheduled for this Friday at 1500 hrs. The funeral will take place at the Chartersville Funeral Home in Dieppe, NB. The funeral home is located at 363 Rue Amirault (just past the Irving on the right hand side.) For military members the appropriate dress is DEU with mourning band (CWO and Offrs only), for all others or those without DEU, appropriate attire please.
Again, I thank you all for the support and messages for the family, I will pass them on; the Regt will ensure this funeral and family support is taken care of properly, professionally and with due decorum and respect.

Regi Patriaeque Fidelis

Michael Bech, Lieutenant Colonel

Commanding Officer, 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's)
Department of National Defence / Government of Canada
