Question about a sore back

I have a question about a sore back  ;)

Asking for medical advice on the internet is always a double edged sword, I know.  Just looking for tips from people who possibly have the same problem.
When I carry around any kinda weight I start to get a pain in my lower back. Wearing full kit with armor really does a number on it. Even carrying something in front of me, obviously this sucks.
I'm going to physio and seeing the docs to try and fix me up but is there anyone out there who has had the same issues? Or treated someone with the same issues?
Is there any tips on making it a bit easier in the short term?  Maybe adjusting how I carry my gear? Stretching a certain way or laying (sleeping) with my back on the ground with my legs elevated?
Not carrying my stuff is obviously not an option and again I AM speaking with the right people about it. Just looking for extra input. Cheers

pm me in about 2 hours when I can respond.

I am the SME on sore backs.

I have a back that acts up.  Herniated discs, spinal stenois, etc.

Best thing I ever did for mine was ab exercises (and some weight loss too.  Was pudgin' up for a while...).

When my back gets sore, I sleep with a pillow or two between my knees, on my right side and that seems to help me.

I am also careful about how I "do" stuff.  Sit.  Lean.  Wash dishes.  It doesn't take much for it to flare up sometimes.

The pillows works for me sometime, most of the time lately...maybe for you.

Cheers.
