i am going to the reserves this summer in wainwright, and i am just wondering of what the living conditions are like thier. Where you sleep, what u eat, where u shower etc..

Also i am curious to what this is all about.    http://www.army.gc.ca/lfwa/it/index.htm

is the infantry resrves challenging ?

Sleep:
Shacks. you'll have a room with other people
Eat:
Food tends to b bland even if their is OK variety.
Shower:
communal open showers probably shared with about half of your course

RE: link.:
LFWA wants more people with more coursesunder their belt

Challenging?

Yes, It can be. That's why it's fun.

hey there.

i have a question about the reserves, or more specifically the training. when i start my BMQ, what will my first "lesson" be? can anyone paint me a picture?

Your first period will be a course introduction.  This will involve you sitting quietly  (with the rest of the course) while the course staff is introduced followed by a briefing as to how the course will be run, administrative need to knows, behavior expected, etc.

Although there is an optimum timetable in the TP (Training Plan - every course has one), it does not have to be slavishly followed.  The course programmer has some latitude when scheduling the course to make best use of the resources (such as when ranges are available).  Having said that, many of the lessons have to be taught in sequence since they build on the knowledge of the previous class but this is only pertinent when considering multiple lessons on the same topic.  Since  there are several different topics being taught during the course, it is impossible to say what will be scheduled first.

Can anyone provide a link with a training schedule for reserve training in Southern, Ontario? Please and Thanks

Yeah, a reserve training schedule for eastern ontario would be nice too. Ive been trying to figure out when i should go into my reserve HQ and hand in my papers.... hmm should i do it right when i get my transcript? or wait untill the end of summer?? ugh decisions decisions!

Handle your application as promptly as possible.  The application process is long enough--you don't want to add to it.  You never know how holding-off on certain docs can affect your file.
