Question for enrolling as an MP

Hi there.  I stumbled on this fine website which seems like a great resource.  I'm hoping someone can help with my question:

Essentially, I'm interested in becoming a regular force member with the Military Police.  According to the CF website, "The minimum academic requirement is a community college diploma in Law and Security Administration, Police Foundations, or a similar program from a recognised Community College or CEGEP. Related employment experience will also be considered in determining education equivalency."

Related employment... now, I have never been a police officer and don't have a college diploma in those said programs, but I have worked for 2 different police organizations as a 9-1-1 communicator and doing clerical work (1 year each... contract jobs).

To anyone who knows anything about recruiting... would this help me in my goal to becoming an MP?

Talk with your local CFRC. There is a educational requirement for MP and I don't think working with a PD in your past jobs would waiver it, not to say it isn't good experience though. If MP is what you want, you should probably look at what Law courses are available in your area.  Also search around the recruiting and MP boards, lots of info there.

Not a recruiter, but I am a MP.  "Related experience" means experience as a LEO, not as a dispatcher.  This should be clarified formally shortly as a general restating of what the actual requirements to be MP are.

Not an MP or a recruiter, but common sense suggests that "related experience" means related experience, not work experience with the police.

If you've been a LEO, that's related experience. If not... it isn't.

Fair enough, although I figured experience doing police communications ie. tactical communications with distraught citizens over the phone, experience learning federal and provincial laws, and ride alongs would qualify.  Can't win them all though!  Guess I'll be enrolling in Community College!
