I'm getting sworn in tomorrow here in Windsor and I have a quick question. (not the typical what to wear) Exactly what do I need to bring with me to the swearing in? ex. Paperwork? Which types of identification? ect.

Also on the same subject, I have heard of people that found out where they are going to be sent (as in base) to after their training but they were all in combat trades. Does anyone know if I'm most likely going to find out where I'm going to be stationed?

Thanks in advance!

You will be filling a PEN (Personal Emergency Notification) form...so you will need the address and phone numbers of your next of kin and/or emergency contact.   You will also be filling out a will.   So have the information of your next of kin ready.

Besides that I don't think you need to bring anything else....bring your photo ID (drivers licence, etc) of course.

This will be the oath that your are taking:
QR&O 6.04 Oath taken on enrolment http://www.admfincs.forces.gc.ca/admfincs/subjects/qr_o/vol1/ch006_e.asp#6.04

Does anyone know if I'm most likely going to find out where I'm going to be stationed?
What's your MOC?

Do they offer a solemn affirmation or is it something that has to be requested? I, myself, am not deeply religious and would feel more comfortable "affirming" with the omittance of the "So help me God" ending.. When should I request it, if the case may be.. ?

Cheers

Patrick H,
When they called you to offer you a position with the CF, you should have been asked your preference about saying "So help me God" or not saying it. If you told them what religion you are, they likely have you slotted for saying: "So help me God". You'll find out for sure when you are going through all the paperwork. You can change it when you get there if you want. It's no big deal.
Nicole.

Okay, thanks.. I've yet to even apply but was just wondering for future reference...

Cheers

I'm off to go get sworn in now ;D

If anyone has any questions I'll be glad to answer them when I get back.

To anyone interested, they changed the format of the swearing in a bit. The other person being sworn in and I were CFRC Windsor's first "Guinea Pigs". Instead of doing all the paperwork beforehand, we were actually sworn in first. We then went into another room separate from the others and did all the paperwork. An endless amount of "sign here, initials here" kind of thing. Nevertheless, it was a great experience and my parents are extremely proud.
