I have a quick one for you guys, on your official yearly pay, approximately what percentage goes in your pocket after all applicable taxes and deductions have been removed?

Thanks for any input.

At corporal basic I'm seening about $2890 in the bank of the $4200 monthly pay. I'll likely get some of that back in tax refund, but it should end up coming pretty close to that.

That's 68%

Still better pay than most civvie jobs, especially since you can basically go in with a grade 10 into most trades and earn more than alot of college/university educated students within a few years. Consider that they pay you to learn, train, and so on and it's really a good way to live, especially if you decide you want to leave at least most people will have a trade to fall back on.

edit : And you don't have to wake up in the morning wondering what to wear!  ;D

Of course, where you're working will affect how much you get in your pocket...Quebec taxes are quite different than Alberta or BC ones  :'(
