Rambo's new movie.... went last night : What did you think

Well what to do when it his 40C in the shade....

Yes, although I do have a good air-con, and a pool, I thought I would drive over to Morayfield (about 25km inland from the island) and check out the new Rambo movie, which opened Australia wide on 21 Feb.

Cost, $15 to get in, and another $10 for a large drink and popcorn.

I was anticipating another typical Rambo movie, cheesie and full of hollywood magazines and H-bomb grenades.

The movies starts off with real graphic video of the attrocities committed in Burma. This sets the mood for the whole film.

I will not spoil the movie, but I rate it as very good, BUT very graphic, and for those that have seen it, the use of blood and guts is taken to the extreme, especially the point blank use of the .50

The use of a M18 Claymore as an initiator on a WW2 10,000 Lb Block Buster was good! I won't say anymore, although the use of his bow, and its outcome from it is most unique.

Relatively good entertainment.

How did you rate it??  I give it a 6.8/10 overall.

The good thing is I went in to the theatre in shorts and singlet at 40C, and came out it was 27C, and that itself was a relief.

I thought it was quite good too.  It's nice that someone mainstream is bringing some attention to the plight of the Karen people.  There was a really good article and interview with Sylvester Stallone in last month's Soldier of Fortune (they have been following the story of the Karen people for a long time) about the whole thing.  Some of the actors in the movie including the Burmese Col. and many of the Burmese soldiers are actually played by Karens.  It is very gory, but compared to some of what has actually been done to those people it's quite tame.

The part with the bow was really good, and unexpected.

I enjoyed it thoroughly and would give it somewhere in the range if a 7-8 out of 10, too bad it's so short.

Out of a 10, I'd give it a 7, just because there is almost always violence in every scene. Overall, very graphic.

There was one part, near the end, where Rambo shoved his homemade knife into one of the Burmese soldiers, and then nearly cut him in half, that was amazing, but, I'd assume very Hollywood.

Orgy is a good choice of words, as yes the claret did flow, sometimes with chunks

WRT the bare handed scene, you should have seen the girl squirm next to me - no she was not with me, but she was wiggling like a worm on a hook - yes and she was hot too  8)

I left alone, and returned to the island for Sat night routine .

Disturbed? Perhaps he had issues prior to even going in the first place.

Im with Wes on this one. It was a good solid movie.. Lots of Gore and entertainment value.

Not bad. I couldn't understand a thing that he was saying! Man! All I could hear was

rar rar rar? rar! rar ararrr rar!

Mind as well have had zero dialog for Rambo... man did he ever look like a roid monkey!

Liked it.  Keep in mind I was expecting to see Rambo so i wasn't expecting academy award winning performances.  Very gory.  But a good plot line and plenty of action.  The important thing is that I didn't feel ripped off.
