Apparently they had a relationship with a defence manufacturer, so the charge could be in relation to something taken from an OEM

I presume the majority of the details are under a publication ban, and will, at some time, be available to the public.
Pre-trial publication bans became mandated by legislation back in 2023 if I recall correctly, for so long as there’s the possibility of a jury trial.
Except there were no CIC officers involved. The guy was an ex-cadet and a former Civilian Instructor un a cadet unit.

I'll assume that will explain the howls of indignation we'll be hearing on Monday.
For a bail hearing lasting multiple days I suspect the Justice may be a couple days or weeks in rendering a decision.

Canadaland has Professor Andy Knight from U of Alberta. He's delivered reports to the CAF about white supremacy in the ranks. In this interview I will give him props for not trotting out the old trope that the CAF mainly recruits from rural Canada. I've maintained that the rural source of recruits dried up in the late 80's and that now most of our recruits come from suburban and urban Canada.
I still maintain that the threats from these fools are overblown, but that we should be able to nail them to the cross for contemplating such actions.

Some new information in the news yesterday. Looks like CBC was able to get a search warrant application partly unsealed. There’s a fair bit in here, looks like it was quite the investigation.

Tin foil hat again. The CBC is really pushing this story because they are pissed (PISSED!!!) that the CAF is getting a massive boost in funding and they want to government to pull that funding back.

I don't think its a stretch to believe that we have a vocal and sizeable segment of our society that sees no use for us.

Or they are pushing it because an armed group paranoid about the government hidden within the military is a bad thing.
