RCMP memorial at National Military Cemetary

Call me a troll..... call me jaded...... whatever you like.

My opinion is that I am a supporter of the Canadian Armed Forces, and if I were to be buried in the national cemetery, I would want it to be with other members of the CF.... not cops.  I have no problem with them being honoured, and having memorials.

If the argument is that way back in the world wars, that the RCMP served in military units.... then why don't we have a section for NHL hockey players who left their teams to serve ?  How about firefighters who served in the war ?  Should there not be a firefighter memorial alongside the police and miitary one ?  Auto mechanics ?  Press operators ?  waiters ?

My opinion was, and is, that Canada should have an Arlington style cemetery for military and military families..... and nobody else.

Well!

Like so many other things about the military, I have noticed lately, many just "Don't get it".

It appears you are one of many who doesn't "get it!", now move along.  You have made you views known.

I wasnt aware that NHL hockey players served as NHL hockey players in war zones. I find your opinion highly suspect given the experience listed in your profile. One wonders what happened so that you refer to dead police officers as "cops", I think your tone gives you away. Then again my tin foil hat might be getting tight.....

Although they weren't doing it in a war zone, the 228th Bn CEF certainly were serving as professional hockey players.  ;D
