Re: CBC: Bias, errors, etc. (merged)- Split Off For a Nutbar's Swerve

Reading this thread was the most fun I've had so far today.

Was watching the National's coverage of the US Congressional game of government shutdown chicken.

I'm not sure what I'm less impressed with, the misinformed reporting on the cause for the standoff being the GOP's desire to kill the Affordable Care Act, or the later discussion panel being entirely clueless about every aspect of what this fight is really about.

One member if the panel seems to think that once they resolve this, we will be right back at it again in November for the debt ceiling debate. News Flash, October 17th is the deadline for the debt ceiling there Skippy.

The Huff Post lady seemed to think that her experience with the last shutdown during the Clinton Administration put her in good stead to claim that there will be no significant impact with a shutdown, as planes will still fly, borders will still be manned, just like when she was there in '95.

This is not a fight about Obamacare. It is a fight between for control of the soul of the Republican Party, and the lack of leadership by the House Leadership. It is the Tea Party Tail wagging the dog of the Mainstream Party. The Obamacare fight is just a symptom of the larger problem of a freshman congressional element getting off on how much publicity they can garner by pulling political stunts like unending votes to repeal Obamacare, playing chicken with government funding, holding the US Economy hostage by setting unreasonable conditions in return for raising the debt ceiling.

Clueless, They are just simply clueless when reporting on what is happening politically south of the border.

The core problem America has is that spending has gone wild.

Love when Obama brags he has cut the deficits in half.

Which is true.

It is also true he almost quadrupled deficit spending first, so by citing it in half he has really doubled it buts gets credit for a reduction.

Good politician.  Not very good  for America.
