hello everyone
i released from the army within the last three years (VR, no MELS/TCAT/PCAT), and have since been approved psc @60% and APSC grade 2 for svc related injuries.
as of late i have been truly re evaluating and considering attempting to rejoin the CAF as a reservist, in a different occupation.
i am first and foremost looking to know what will happen to my VAC benefits (psc/apsc) should re-enrolment be possible.
does the caf communicate directly with vac for reviewing my disability awards (whether it be triggering a reassessment on vac's side or the medical aspect of recruiting/enrolment), or is this something i will have to stay on top of/initiate? where would i reach out first?
i have documentation in order, and intend on being transparent throughout the process, and want to streamline it as much as possible while also having a clear expectation.
i am also open for any general advice one may have for the planning aspects of re-enrolment, and welcome anything you have to share. for me, caf svc has been the most enriching part of my life, and my barriers to civilian life nowadays seem more that i genuinely miss being a soldier and feel that with proper preparation that may be possible again.
joining the caf now is certainly easier than when i first went in, but i also want to make a decision that is based on comprehensive information and carefully evaluated.
(please refrain on speculating medical eligibility, as i will be looking to dmedpol/rmo and my doctor for that)
thank you,
chronicpte
