aka "remove the stuff that doesn't support what I say"??

Isn't that censorship?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship ;)

Don't tell us that you are seriously quoting wikipedia.  I wonder if you have looked at the thread in Radio Chatter about our Army.ca page on wikipedia (  http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/48066.0.html  ) which a disgruntled ex-member of Army.ca is trying to delete.......a member of the wikipedia editorial staff.....talk about censorship.   ;D

We all know wikipedia can be edited by almost anyone.  http://grouper.com/video/MediaDetails.aspx?id=1468031

not to mention that these guys make their money for the enormous amounts of steroids they need to gain the size they have by going on contract. Look at the person paying their salaries, then look at the products they're hawking, then look at the person who owns the product line being hawked. Look at the magazines they appear in, who owns them, and then look at who owns the products being advertised in the same magazines.

Yep.  Baseball players, hockey players, football players...lots of people in sports do steriods.  You forgot to mention them, too.  Oh, the Tour de France dork just got nailed too...but whats the point?  I am not a roid-supporter.

I THINK (no I am sure) I mentioned that I am not for roids, and that the natural builders are the ones that impress me, and just cause they do steriods doesn't mean they don't know more about building muscles than anyone (me included) in this thread.  Hence the "professional bodybuilder" status.  If ya watch TSN and some other stations, they have Mr/Mrs Natural comp's on them, some impressive people there.

So it doesn't make sense to sit here and make it look like I am saying they are the end all/be all of fitness.

AGAIN...this is all in relation to the "originally quoted incorrect fact" from my 1st post on this thread...feel free to read back.

And my whole point has TRIED to be...protein heavy diets are very important to build and maintain muscle and muscle mass.

Listen friend, years ago I wanted to get into "the game"....didn't take long until I discovered "the game".
These guys could eat the stuff cows leave in the barn and still grow, absoloutely zero to do with high protien, carbs, etc.....

So by your thought the only person that should teach hockey would be the Wayner?

The ones I have known personally (Ronnie Coleman is NOT included in that group  ;D) some were roid-heads, some weren't.  I don't listen support the use of roids.  Ref last post, lots of people in lots of sports use roids...

Nope, he is not the ONLY one, but I would say he is one of the top ones.  His "opinion" would rate higher than say, anyone on this thread on hockey SME stuff, would it not??

Thought so.  :)

You did see the little icon down after that post George?

still waitin' on the credentials/education/experience/fitness level of  the Nutrition Expert....is she a dietician?  Registered Dietician?  Fitness trainor?

Mud

I think you'll have a LONG wait. He already told us she's a respected medical professional.
Someone whose only vested interest is keeping people healthy and in peak fitness.

Your references however, are from a supplement industry magazine...
Their best interests are promoting the use of supplements in general.

BTW, Great thread Para! It is seriously appreciated. Sorry to intrude on your thread - Feel free to delete of course.

Too bad.  Most of the Mod's on here question people with no profile.  I guess that is what is called the good 'ol double-standard.

Just asking for credentials.  I will have to reference this thread the next time someone posts and their credentials are asked for.

You keep following the herd... ::)

when she wants to post on here, she'll be obliged to put her info down. Until then, I'm not going to splash her name and personal info on a website without her permission. That would be rude, to say the least, wouldn't it?

Knock it off.

If you have some sort of hidden agenda to gun at the Mods, then take it elsewhere.  I am growing tired of the rant, and I think I clarified my position via the PM exchange we had.

MudRecceMan, please, give this up.

Mods, feel free to prune this with the others.  This is an informational thread, not a debate, from my perspective, and given that the mods have indicated they prune this thread to keep it that way, this isn't censorship.  I'm sure you could start a "Supplements endorsed by the people who sell them" thread if you wish.

Do you question the credentials of your Base Surgeon?  Do you ask the cook who made dinner in the mess last night if he's a member of the Culinary Institute of America?  Why hammer ParaCowboy on this?  He's citing a professional, in the employ of the CF, on her (her?  I'm not looking back) area of expertise.

I've taken, oh, a few courses in human anatomy and physiology. My spouse has a degree in Biology, minor in human nutrition.  I'll admit that I'm not a nutrition guru by any stretch, but NOTHING ParaCowboy has said on here has conflicted with what I have found to be the accepted wisdom of dietitians and associated professionals who have no vested interest in what you buy or consume.

I've found this thread amusing, informative, and, gosh, a little motivational to eat a little better and run a little more.

So to Para, BZ for this one.  For Mud, let it rest.

Not for long. Anyone wanting to post about other stuff can hunt down and post in the thread all the supplement gurus were bickering in last year.

Umm, I think I meant more what I said (education, experience, etc) not her name Paracowboy.  Not looking to slag anyone, it was a serious question when I asked it the first time...I don't get it.  Who said name?  I said I am just curious as to who/what the army is considering an expert in the field?

But if ya can't, ya can't.  No biggy in the end.

as do I, which is why I have recruited the assistance of the Brigade's Expert on Fitness Nutrition. This is her job & her passion, and her experience & word vastly outweighs yours, mine, or anyone else's on these boards. So, I'm going to leave this up long enough for it to be read, and then prune the thread again.

Second post in this thread.  Was on second page of the first edition of this Topic.

George,

I saw that, but hell I could say that about anyone.  I was looking something to indicate what level of knowledge, other than his claim of it.

Registered Dietician, etc.  And how much does the person practice what they preach, ie. their own fitness level.

Theory is great, even better when tried, tested and proven.  I can talk about theory of MG fire.  Can I/do I/have I applied it?  Thats what I was asking...its a legit question.

Why does stuff have to turn into a popularity contest?  Someone (doesn't matter who) posted something that isn't 100% true.  Its simple.

A protein heavy diet is easy to achieve, but isn’t as efficient for muscle growth, and fat loss.

Alright.  Of ALL the posts made, this is the one point I said "nutso" on.  Where did you all get that I am slamming the whole thing?  ::)

One person has an opinion, I don't agree with it, and said so and then the bandwagon starts.  Man.

Lots of posts here, people are asked to qualify or elaborate on their opinion and/or sources, and their posts are questioned until they do so.  Why is this so different?  I was clear about it not being a slag, and curious as to, the Bde Nutrition Expert made ref to.

Like I said, 1 point out of how many pages????????

::)

Stand down on what?  Making a point about 1 piece of info from 5?  6? pages of posts????  ::)

Anyways...

So, we know what this is about
poke.gif
It's all about how far up the wall you can piss
piss2.gif

Unfortunately, some people can't take a hint and give it up when a perfectly good explanation has been given.
beat-dead-horse.gif
cause they can't stand being told they don't have a case.

So let me give you a hand here para, you've been to tolerant.

This thread is locked.

MRG, one more time. There's an old suppliment thread around here that died because of lack of interest, maybe you can find it and add your wisdom there.
