Theres a lot more to it then just handing in your paper work. Don‘t quit
your day job its a long process theres no war going on, it‘ll take awhile
theres a selection process. Ahead of you you‘ve got an apptitude test,
physical, medical, and interview. Try to focus on each step one at a time.

my god, i wish i could get in that fast :
i did my interviewing and everything one day about 2 weeks ago95 of the
day was spent sitting on a couch with other nervous potentials trying to
reassure each other that we all did OK...i did my PT test deal on tuesday
of this weeki passed!!!!, and now they have to do a background check on
me...should take about a week and a half, they said. and who knows how long
it will be after that when they call me and tell me im in!!!!
and thats just for the reserves!

Mine was similar event in 63 except I was at old 13 PD in Ottawa. Bussed
from Cobourg to Ottawa on day 1. Test in the PM along with medical.
Interview the next AM with Capt Black Watch who really tried to enroll me
in the RHR. Enrolled that PM and issued a travel warrant and on the train
for Borden that evening.
Mr Lawson made reference to the sweater high neck. Yes, I remember having
to have pockets and epalets from Battle Dress sewn onto the sweater. It
along with stable belt purchase from kit shop and not issuewas work dress
of the day. I tried a short cut for awhile. Reasoned, why press a full
shirt. I had a shirt which somehow became holed. Battery acid I think. I
saved the collar portion and wore that with the sweater. Worked fine until
they decided to have a shirt inspection one day.
Gee, I used to do a lot of extras in those days.

It‘s the silly American again:
All this talk about recruiting seems strange to me.
Right now the Americans are DYING for anyone to join.
Recruiting is at an all time low. A lot of our
problems are supposedly optempo, but from what I‘ve
heard from active duty and reserve Canadian soldiers
it‘s worse in your army. When I asked about joining
the Canadian Army, I was barraged with emails telling
me how much better the American one is. If that‘s
true, how come you guys have a waiting list and we
don‘t? There has got to be a reason, and I don‘t
think size is the whole answer...

Hi,
Im just writing in to see if anyone out there knows anything about the
timing of the upcoming Infantry Officers Induction. The Hamilton Recruiting
office is telling me July or August, while I don‘t blame them I was just
hoping to hear something from someone else out there. Just to avoid
confusion I am joining up under the DEO officer programme, and volunteered
specifically for infantry so any info or training help would be appreciated.
