after busting my A** off trying to make the 2.4 mil in 12min
it occurs to me its not 2.4 miles
its 2.4 km
thats way shorter
now i know ill pass the tests and be OK but dam my legs hurt

the lesson learned
read everything twice and then read it all again slowly to make sure you got it right. :-[

Don't worry about it....it's better than thinking it's 2.4 KM if it was actually 2.4 miles.

I wonder the same thing at the gym.

I seem to run at a faster pace but still get the same times.

But when I asked how long the track is nobody knows and I heard 100m and 160m.

So either I am making really good time or just average time around 10:00 min for 2.4km

Is it one of those indoor tracks? They're usually 200m, I know the one they have in Kingston at the Military Gym facility is 200m, as is the one here in Surrey by my house.  100m is way too short for any track, it wouldn't be an oval, it would be a very small circle, and you'd probably be running 25-30 second laps, lol.

Well, thats okay because the better shape your in is just how much easier basic will be. I wouldn't give up, I'd continue trying to make my time shorter.

Take a look around the information posted at the walls in the track, most give the distance for each lane there (don't forget each lane is a different length), usually by the entrance in my experience.  If that doesn't work, ask the gym staff.

Yeah its around 24 seconds a lap

Probably just seems like I am going alot faster because the track is so small

I asked the staff and they said that they didn't know some girl in line told me 16 laps was a mile and then my friend asked some over guy and he said it was 1.6 something

There isn't much information except a piece of paper with an arrow tellling you the track direction

10 minutes for the 2.4 aint average. On the Canadian Forces physical fitness guide it says:

                      Men                                                Women
          Acceptable    Superior                  Acceptable          Superior
Under      11:56 -      Under                      14:26-                Under
30            10:13        10:13                      12:36                12:36

Well everybody else says that they can run it in like 8-9 min so I thought 10 min sucked.
