Recruiting FAQ questions and answers

Everyone please review the recruiting FAQ at some point, and if you see things that are wrong, outdated, or dont see something that you think should be there, please post it here, or PM me.
I understand that right now, it is a bit of a mess, but it will be tidied up and added to eventually. Mike did a good job of putting it all together in one post. Slowly it will be tidied up...

Just one question... I‘ve heard alot of references to the Soldier Qualification two month period, and for a while I thought this was simply a Reserve thing.

With SQ being both Reg and Res, how does it fit into the training schedule? What trades attend SQ training? Every trade in the Force (Army, Navy, and Air), or just Army, or is it just Combat Arms, or Support trades?

It seems that SQ covers Infantry training, so do Infantry do BRT (10 weeks) then SQ (8 weeks - 60 days) then Infantry training (16 weeks) for a total of 34 weeks of training?

It seems that for Reg. Force, there is a 10-week Basic Recruit Training Course at Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School (CFLRS), Saint-Jean, Quebec. Then there is BASIC MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL (MOC) TRAINING, training time is approx. 16 weeks.

Initial Employment

On completion of basic MOC training, Infantry soldiers serve with one of the following units:

The Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR)
1st Battalion - Petawawa, Ontario
2nd Battalion - Gagetown, New-Brunswick
3rd Battalion - Petawawa, Ontario

Princess Patricia‘s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI)
1st Battalion - Edmonton, Alberta
2nd Battalion - Winnipeg, Manitoba
3rd Battalion - Edmonton, Alberta

Le Royal 22e Régiment (R22eR)
1st Battalion - Valcartier, Quebec
2nd Battalion - Quebec City, Quebec
3rd Battalion - Quebec City, Quebec

Thank you, McInnes. I had asked such a question earlier, but received no legitimate response. Everything I had heard from the recruiters, interviewers and CF documents stated what you just had. But then I heard of a mysterious 8-week course in between, and got terribly confused. Thank you for the clarification.
