Regarding April Selections

Hey All.

I am resubmitting my application to the CF this week (they closed it after i had my eyes zapped cause it was easier than keeping it on file for 3 months or so and not doing anything with it). Before doing this, i heard an interesting piece of info. I was told that usually the selection board takes about 10/20 people a month, and then at certain times they take a high volume of people ie 200/300. And i was told that in april they will be taking that 200/300 people.

First off, i want to know if there is any truth to that, and i was also wondering that with the army wanting to fill those 200/300 positions the chances of my having my new application done and all the testing finished by april would be a reasonable time frame? Cheers -Cameron

I guess you would have to consider the source of that information. Who told you this ?

As far as an application goes, i'm not sure how long it takes these days but when i got in, you could have enrolled 5 times in between now and april !!

I started my application process in late September and I got merit listed on December 8th. it was just two and half months to got through all the testing and such.

As for the April selection board. I have been told from recruiters and the Corporal handling my file that April is the biggest selection period. I don't know numbers, but I have been told that if I am not selected before then, that I will chosen.

Is the Regiment youre applying to accepting applications? It took me about 9 months from when I handed in my paperwork to when I got sworn in, because my Regiment wasnt looking for people

boo, i'm not applying to a regiment, i'm going reg force infantry or armoured, and from what i recall you don't apply to a "regiment", you get posted where the army wants you instead. but i could be wrong.

I got my information from another guy who is applying. He still has to do his physical and all that fun stuff, and i wasn't sure if what he said is true, as he has been wrong about a lot of things about the application process so far. Anywho, thanks for all the info. Cheers -Cameron

Hansol assumed you were going reserves where you apply directly to the regiment you wish to join. You are in fact correct, in reg force, you go where they need ya !

Are they recruiting a lump sum of ppl in April for the reserves or the regular force?

The selection boards are only for the Regular force, in the reserves the application is through your regiment so after your interview your file goes back to them instead of going to the selection boards.
