Not much for personnel files from WWI, but the ones from the Boer War are more extensive.
Lots of other interesting documents available for viewing, like war diaries from WWI. It's not very easy to just browse around, you have to have a decent idea of what you want to look at.

Well for WWI, Collections Canada is a very good source for certain information, it all depends really on what you want. I've been working with a teacher at my high school that's helped to get a lot of the WWI information from the archives on the net. Mr. Seward has been trying to get WWII records online but it's been taking awhile.
If you want attestment papers for soldiers, you can use the search located here. Or if you want a battlefield diary from a specific regiment or battalion, you can search for that here. It's specifically Canadian, and it's a lot easier if you know a soldier's regimental numbers, and if you know those you can check out the virtual memorial and find out their date of death (if they died during the war) and check out the war diaries and see what battles they may have died in. That's basically for Canadians only though. I've been told that other governments are doing similar things, but I'm not certain, and I don't have any specifics for Commonwealth soldiers. Sorry bro, hope this helps though.
