last night, when the PAT Plt commander came back from a recruiting conferance at CFRC Vancouver, he informed us that we will not be taking BMQ at Wainright or Shilo or whatever, since the Reg Force is so backlogged with members awaiting training, they pretty much kicked the reserve‘s off, so they have more training space to teach more members

so now, Reservists taking BMQ will take it at a local armoury, I will most likely be taking mine in Vancouver, maybe Seaforth Armouries since the weekend BMQ is being done their

so, Recruits will arrive at the armoury in the morning, an leave at night, an do this from monday to friday for 3 weeks

no overnights, no breakfast or dinner provided

but, as far as I‘m aware an my Plt Cmdr SQ will still be takin at a Reg Force Base

Heh, don‘t get too attached to plans this far away. Things change all the time in the CF. They may yet find you some shacks to keep you in for your BMQ. They found some for us last summer when I did my BMQ.. :)
(Possibly because half the platoon wasn‘t from the city, and had no where to stay overnight)

really?

takin BMQ like the way stated in my above post would be quite easy, get to sleep at home, dont gotta make up bed an such

but takin BMQ on a reg force base would be a better, since your always there, an cant be late or whatever

That means you‘ll have to get up at like 4:30 in the morining and drive there half asleep.

This could affect me as well cause I‘m supposed to take my BMQ at Waynwright, Edmonton or Lethbridge. If what you say is true, Waynwright and Edmonton are out of the picture. Guess we‘ll ahve to wait and see.

The BMQ is being offered currently at Seaforth (but you‘re too late, it started already) it‘s about 0730-1900 daily on weekends, with no overnights.

The SQ is currently being run by the Westies, and there IS overnight on that course.

And I know you‘re really new to the army, so I‘ll pass on the best piece of advice I have: With the army, the only thing you can count on is change. Don‘t expect anything and be flexible. Everything may have changed by the summer.

Nah, i did it last year, tho the FNGs in my unit told me that they are doing it in shilo...

ah well

Talk around the westies is that there will be courses run in chilliwack this year.
