Reserve unit did not submit CT papers correctly for RegF

Hello! My son just started BMQ in St Jean. He was in the reserves and his CT broker emailed him just before the holidays and gave him release papers. Now St Jean is telling him he might need to go back to Reserves because his unit did not submit complete documents. Is this common? Should my son contact his CT broker? Hoping someone can give some guidance.

Oh crap.

1. contact his broker
2. contact the unit.

Depending on the unit staff (which doesn't sound good at this point) and his broker this could be fixed real quick. I maintained good relations with the brokers I dealt with and we resolved issues real quick for members. Sometimes adjusted dates, quals granted and even increased their ranks upon CT.

Bit nosey on this - did he receive an email from the broker in regards to the required docs before sending the release papers? Never heard of a broker sending release papers to someone before.

I may have used an incorrect term (sorry, not familiar with all the acronyms) but he did get a signed document from Ottawa 5323-1 (DMCPG 5-5 CT) which stated his transfer date, change of strength date, unit records support, etc.

Also yes he did get the email with the required docs which he signed and was confirmed by his CT broker. In fact, his reserve unit asked him to report to Denison Armoury in December to sign papers and told him he's all set for St Jean. He's 18 and he is confused on what to do at this point. He's in indoc period so he won't have time to update us that is why I'm very concerned.

Sounds like a lot of bad timing that has him caught in transit. Paperwork may still be sitting at Denison for action as it ran into the holiday block leave period. Always have hated that they do anything during Dec.

Sounds to me like everything was done but needs to be actioned at the unit completing his transfer from reserves to regular force. Do you know the unit contact? As he is on course it would be good if you could contact them to sort it out on his behalf. Personally I don't know why the broker or staff at St-Jean hasn't. Ones I dealt with contacted me anytime there was the slightest blip in the process and we dealt with it as fast as possible.
