I swore in to my unit about a month ago, still have yet to get kit. Now I got accepted in to my dream university tonight and am defiantly planning on going in September. When should I talk to my chain of command about the transfer and will they be angry about the transfer so soon? Also will leaving the unit hurt my chances of getting on a BMQ course this summer? I already informed the career councillor and Senior NCO of my plan when I joined, will this be a problem.

Sorry @directingstaff I tried to put this in the reserves thread but could not find it.

The world of the reserves, people join, people release, people go to school, people transfer, people find careers.

If your CoC is angry with you because you are choosing a path of school while still trying to commit to the reserves (even with a different unit) they should rethink their positions as NCO's.

I would inform them ASAP though, they may even be willing to lend a helping hand. There are many options, you can be attatched, transfered, or take a excused dismissal from training.

Talk to your chain of command, write a memo stating your situation and stay on top of it.

You aren't the first person to have gone through this, so guarenteed there are people that can contribute (either here or at the unit level)
