Is there a deadline for a P Res recruit to go his BMQ?

Is a P Res recruit that is not able to go on BMQ course because of its civilian job subject to a time limit to train before getting kick out or something like that?

I'd like official references as well.

Thanks

In my experience (such as it is), given the widely varying ways in which different units deal with their recruits, I'd be pretty certain saying there is no CF-wide rule.  Some units have their recruits in on training nights and weekends from the time they're sworn in, others don't want to see them until they're ready to be sent on DP1, and a few variations in between.

From what I've seen, it comes down to the willingness of the unit to keep an individual on the roll after they have passed on (at least) one BMQ opportunity.  Taking into account the individual, the reason(s) for missing the course slot and the chances of something similar happening in the future, the recruit will either be given another chance or advised to start the release procedure.  If it becomes a recurring problem and/or they won't start the release on their own, then they get the boot.

Not official by any means... just my observations.
