Hi folks,
First time poster, long time reader....Anyway, flying with a captain(civy) the other day and he was telling me about his son who was recently accepted as a navigator, but also passed the medical for pilot. Of course the topic of vision came up. He told me that 20/20 was only for fast jets. Helos, transports and maritime patrol was not as restrictive. I have been looking for a long time for a way around this loophole for my own application, but have yet to find it(I wear contacts/glasses
). Obviously I am an unskilled civilian, but with pretty respectable flying experience(I know it doesn't count). Can anyone offer any insight regarding this "revised vision requirement"? Thanks for your help. By the way, I am very familiar with the "original" application process, and all its usual efficiencies(regardless of flight experience, must be trained the military way, etc.).
