Thanks to all of the users who wrote back with their comments about the Army Forum. I've read them all, and it was very helpful.
Most of you indicated that Army.ca has taken the lead and is operating nicely. The success of Army.ca's forum simply precludes any need to host a forum here. Given the liabilities that are inherent to freedome of speach, the leadership of the Army simply cannot afford to offer the same liberties that Army.ca has to offer. In fact, it is doubtful that we will ever be able to provide that to you. We may offer a forum in the future in more of a support role for various groups, but I don't see an open forum here like the one that we use to enjoy.
That, and the fact that the forum program that we've been using is very unstable, I've reluctantly decided to close the forum indefinitely. If, for some reason, Army.ca closes, I will push the leadership to open a forum here.
