I've heard of RMC's military skills/sandhurst teams and it seems like something I want to attempt to join. Can anyone provide insight on their selection process, specific training, and advice in general for selection?

. . . Each team is comprised of 11 officer cadets (nine per obstacle with two resting) who must work together to overcome the formidable and varied obstacles they encounter during the competition. To become a member of the team, officer cadets must pass a gruelling selection process held at the beginning of the school year, followed by daily training.

One would assume that the best source of information would be from your cadet chain of command at RMC or CMR St-Jean. That is, of course, if you are a cadet at one of the milcols. If not, then the first thing you would have to do is apply for ROTP (or UTPNCM, if you're an NCM), get selected for subsidized education and go to MilCol.

As far as it's selection process and team-based broader focus, get good at calisthenics and running (speed and endurance in particularly mid to long distances). Pushups and pullups are your friends, as well as running of all sorts. Strength is, however, in asset. In that sense, the Sandhurst team itself can be thought of as an endurance-based crossfit-esque team that has a particular focus on military skills. The selection process is a week long period that will practically assess capabilities within a diverse array of endurance based events.
