ROTP Open House

I received a personal signed letter from the CFRC Hamilton about my ROTP application. Long story short it says that I have been invited along with my family to attended a formal "meet and greet" with current officers, past recruits from the RMC etc.

Has anyone been to such a thing? What can I expect ?

I am not sure if it is the same but my dad and myself were invited to an information night in Barrie Ontario about 2 months ago. There was a capt and a sergeant there and they spoke about university and the Canadian Forces. It was very informative and I have since made my application for the ROTP air operations. The captain and the sergeant have been very helpful and explained every step to me. Maybe this is the same kind of activity?

Been very nervous about this process but have finished the aptitude test and interview and the sergeant in Barrie has kept this fun and informative at the same time.

I am well on my way in the application process. I leave for the ACS mid Jan 09.

I am just curious as to what I may encounter. It seems close to what you may have experienced.

Seems like you are a step or two ahead of what I am - I am going back to Barrie next week for a medical and from there..?.. They (Barrie) has to complete the activities in 2 visits - when I arrived last week we were lined up all the way down the hall (I would guess 15 of us anyways)
The Barrie staff was great but they seemed to be missing a lot of staff. The sergeant kept us laughing all day and let us know what to expect.

Back to you're question - the sergeant Robertson(??) - told us that last here the first people that knew that they were accepted last year found about March and were actually enrolled in July. The ceremony was at city hall - i think that would be sic!

Thank you very much. Best of luck with your medical and all that fun jazz. I was on edge with the medical until I received the call from the CFRC about ASC.
