Recently a farmer discovered the remains of a downed Russian WW2 fighter aircraft in his field. It was buried in a swampy bog. The locals were all astounded when the remains of a pilot were also discovered, still strapped into his seat in the cockpit of the Russian designed aircraft.
It is believed that the crash occurred when it was shot down in the winter, breaking thruogh the ice of the bog, and hence the cold, the oil and petrol did indeed preserve the pilot so well, it appeared he had only been dead for a matter of days.
He was fully identified and after some research, which included a detailed forensic study, has since had a full military burial in a local military cemetery. Also found was his identication, and a loaded TT-35 Tokarev 7.62 x 25mm pistol, and other noteable items. I find this interesting to say the least, and the level of preservation, not only with the pilot, but other articles within the cockpit is remarkable.
Attn Mods - Please note that I have placed two photos not to glorify this incident, but purely for historic reference. If you feel otherwise, please either move or delete as required.

Wes
