Oh man, is the Tudor House still open. Geez havent heard that name in fifteen years. Oh right, military terms - why don't you list a few you have heard and peeps can try to explain / define for you. The most common ones I've heard is "hurry up and wait" and "get on the bus, get off the bus". In the military you do a lot of waiting. Waiting for posting, waiting for the transpot (bus, plane, etc.), waiting on higher ups to decide etc. At the same time everything has to me done lightning quick - hence the ironic statement "hurry up and wait". As for get on the bus, get off the bus. That is the consequence of hurrying up and waiting. I recall being bugged out at 4a.m. (woken up early without warning to deploy on a mission) and forming up (getting into a formation for role call/marching) and getting on and off the bus about a dozen times because of administrative hold ups / logistical delays etc. to travel to Comox to take a Chinook(big helicoptor) to Williams Lake for winter Ex indoctrination. Nothing like wearing all your winter gear in Victoria and Comox when its 15 C outside.
