I have been told that because i wont be 16 till mid march and i‘m not quite finished gr 10 yet (i have 4 of the 6 required courses) that i‘m pretty much S.O.L for this summers Basic Training (reserves), and that i will have to do my trainin during the school year come september. Should I go in september or wait to join up till i can get into the summer training? School year basic traing sounds like it would be ALOT easyer, but i dont want to have gone through easy training when everyone else had to work their tail off all summer, it would make me a lesser quality soldier no? any thoughts or comments would be apreciated

You‘re going to be 16 this March, and have your Grade 10 at the end of June? Apply now. I believe the requirement is that you be 16 before you start your BMQ, but you can apply while you‘re still 15.

As for Summer BMQ vs Part-Time BMQ, it shouldn‘t matter really. It‘s just that the summer is all at once, while the Part Time is on weekends only, so you‘re going to have to work at it on your own time so you don‘t forget. You wont have it any easier while you‘re there, part time BMQ just gives you more breaks.

I think the only problem he would face since he‘s in grade 10 is you also need 15 school credits.

Either way you go, you‘re gonna be working your tail off.

Skyfocused, when i was on bmq there were people who had failed grade ten classes and turned sixteen days before the course started, you should have no problems, just do it! you won‘t regret it.

And both courses are equally hard, summer may be all at once, but it is hard to do a week of school/work and then work your rear off all weekend, although you can recuperate during the week, which is nice.

its ‘she‘ actualy sh0rtbUs lol. And we dont get credits in grade 10 here, it goes by courses. Thanks for the help all! :salute:

s‘ok, lol, oh and if anyone knows, what is the heart rates they‘re looking for on the step test?
