I have often had the casual pleasure to observe several levels of government all trying to solve the same problem in different ways and means and they almost always end up shooting themselves in the foot of course that won‘t happen anymore because Bill C-68 is such a useful piece of legislation.
I would direct your attention to the center ring where the feds have decided to lend the use of the various armouries for the poor,starving masses that proliferate in a society that lets them and staff them with military read Reserve personel. Nice, but not so nice. Anybody participate in one of those ‘nice ideas‘ ? Still trying to scrub yourself clean? Don‘t worry, it comes off eventually, mostly from wear. The Toronto School Board has decided that in order to comply with Mike Harris‘ budget plans, they have to close 138 schools. That equals 1.2 million square feet of space that could be used to house/feed/clothe and support the thousands of homeless on the streets of Toronto not to mention the thousands that will be freezing in the dark the next time there‘s an ice storm in this neck of the woods.
For some strange reason, the politicians are pretty quite about this one. I wonder if they‘ll kick out the homeless if the ‘gentry‘ need the space. It ought to be an interesting winter, Eh?
