Just heard on the news this morning about Scott Taylors new book in reference to soldiers allegations of being contaminated from filling sandbags in Yugo. It was also mentioned that the Miniister of Defense was denying that any of these cases are accurate. In 1995, My X-Hubbie and I were in Winnipeg - He is PPCLI, and was in Yugo on the 1993 tour. Since then, he too has been plagued with lung infections, and a failing heart, as well as other respiratory ailments. Another Corporal, who has since been medically discharged, sufferred from a massive loss of weight and major respiratory problems as well...it was at this time that they were told of their possible contamination - I can‘t quite remember what they said - but it was in reference to the minerals or a certain or in the soils of which they were filling their sandbags. I will be very interested in reading the book to find out how long ago that these allegations had become public...and I also challenge the higher ups when they say that these claims are not accurate. Is their possibly a caseto fight for here?
