Search problems...

I'm thinking this may be a problem with the newer firefox, or perhaps you folks have modified something...

But alas, I'm finding the search tool rendered useless on firefox '1.5.0.3'. It tries to open a .PHP file when a search is conducted (simple search or advanced), yet in the past I have no memory of such events happening. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have tried the search function on a few other boards running SMF 1.1 RC2 and SMF 1.0.7 but they do NOT have this problem.

Just sending out a heads up for the admin staff,
Crowe

Crowe,

I'm using 1.5.0.3 and it works fine. What link or method are you using to search?

I first tryed to use the search function on the upper right of ever page. When that failed I tried the advanced, same problem as the first.

I think I have singled it down to a single computer problem. I'm currently on another computer in my house that has FF, no problem with search.

The computer I'm having problems with is Windows Pro Service Pack 2. The current computer I am on is Windows Media Center 2002 edition. I will try Windows Family to single out a network problem on my side (I can only hope it's not that...)

I've tested it on Windows XP Pro SP2 and it works OK. Must be some sort of configuration oddity on that system. Is it only (and always) search?

Well, frankly it would be very odd if it was indeed a configuration problem. It is a fresh install (as of last thursday) so everything is still set in its defaults mostly.

The basic over view of the computer is...
AMD Athlon 64 3000 (OC'd 2.0ghz)
1GB memory
80GB hard drive (OS/Programs)
160GB hard drive (Data/Projects)
DVD burner
CD-ROM
Windows XP Pro SP2
Firefox 1.5.0.3

Almost forgot... Yes, as far as I have found it is ONLY the search (advanced and basic).

Ill try to rule out the OS in a few minutes. (aka, Ill crack the virginity seal of IE on that computer to see if it works via a different browser)

I'm having problems:

When I type in numbers into a search, the "The Page Cannot be Displayed" comes up.

http://forums.army.ca/forums/index.php?action=search2

It works like this:

67346: doesn't work
12 Rcb: doesn't work
Rcb: works (completes search)

I'm running IE 6.00.2900.2180 on Windows XP.

It's only happened to me in the last 30 minutes.

I can reproduce that... it actually causes the web server process to die (temporarily), but I'm not sure why. :( I'll keep digging.
