Don't know if this is the right place to post (mods, feel free to shift as you see fit), but I'm looking for a charity (ideally Canadian) that I can donate to that does mine clearance work in Afghanistan.  I want to make a donation in the name of someone who died there, and I want to make sure the $ will be well used.  I've tried surfing the net, but most of what I found tends to be European, and I'd prefer spending my money with a Canadian NGO if I can.

I figured sappers, former sappers, or even those interested in sapper stuff, would be the best kind of people to steer me in the right direction.

Thanks, in advance!

As far as how reputable these are, I cant say, but here's some Canadian sites.

www.cameo.org has been around for a while.

They are a member of an "umbrella" type organization, www.minesactioncanada.org
Here's a list of their members http://www.minesactioncanada.org/home/index.cfm?fuse=AboutUs.MembershipList

Besides OMAR in the UK the only name that comes to mind is the Canadian Landmine Foundation

Here is the Afghanistan specific info:

Canadian International Demining Corps? (formally known as centre)? Is this the one you're thinking of perhaps?
