I'm saddened to let you know that former Lake Superior Scottish Regiment, 3rd The Royal Canadian Regiment and Royal Canadian Air Force member Frank Hudec died at home February 4 of this year. He was a good man, and it's been an honour to have him as, in the words of others smarter than me, a brother beyond blood - he'll be missed.

Arrangements to bury Frank's ashes in Canada have been finalized. If you're in Thunder Bay, interment of ashes will take place at his father Joseph Hudec's plot (Lot #30, Block #45) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 10:30AM at St. Patrick's Cemetery on Broadway Avenue, Father Joseph Arockiam of St. Peter's Church officiating. In Ottawa, interment of ashes will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11am at Beechwood National Military Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue (Grave 4165A); please be at the main reception building by 10:30 a.m. A gathering to share memories of Frank will take place following the Beechwood interment, at a nearby location to be determined, so an email RSVP by end of day September 7, 2025 sent to [email protected] would be appreciated.
