Hey there,

I will be goin for basic any time now, I was just wondering what that shacks r like for living when im done battle school? R they just one small room? Fridge? Bathroom? Whats all in it? If someone could give me some info on them that would be great! I will prob be stayin in edmonton to be more specific!

Thanks,

You will get a small room with a bed, desk and chair a couple of closets and that‘s it.Bathrooms are shared, fridges may or may not be allowed depending on the policy at the time.Oh yeah you may also have a roomate who will be overjoyed at the fact you are moving into his space....Enjoy!!!

Edmonton sounds like luxury to me. Det. Dundurn featured Metal bunks made in 1941, Metal cabinets made in the 1950‘s and a building use to train people for WW1. Each barracks I think could hold 80 recruits.

Sounds terrible right????? Wrong, the training was good, the friendships better and the mess hall served up some really great chow. I liked it so much I‘m heading back for SQ as soon as a training course is availble.

Being in shacks like that while on course is nothing. What they‘re talking about in Edmonton is where you live permanently. I used to live in similar quarters and it is definitely not luxury.

When I was at 1CSR,, I thought having carpet was a luxury. Grant it, when they got the new quarters, I ranked it as Holiday Inn quality.
