Smart phones - Enie Menie Miney Mo

So you have to disable location services for the phone not to track you, but when you need it to call 911 and you can't talk the locating takes far longer and is not as accurate.... sounds lose/lose to me.
Better than nothing...

Apple will be fixing how long the tracking data is stored. I actually took the file from iTunes and piped it into mapping software. Interesting.
I am not too concerned however. I doubt I would be taking the phone(while it is on) anywhere I would need to worry about Op Sec anyways..

Typically, any updates from Apple are just adding features, which Jail-breaking would provide anyways, so it is not much of an issue there.

Viruses/security.. BB is the best for security. period. Apple really does not have to worry much about viri until it is Jailbroken. Android is vulnerable to pretty much anything.

I am in between BB and iPhone 4.. I am teetering between BB encryption and iPhone Jailbreak..

I use an Motorola Android Mike phone, have had zero problems with it, and quite enjoy it. It has a nice big screen. 5MP camera, and stores my music. It bluetooths to my GPS and loads internet stuff reasonably fast.

Tech specs here.

In the end, it comes down, for most, to brand loyalty. Some will swear by Apple and consider anything else as crap without even checking. Others will say the same for their brand.

Get what appeals to you and does what you need. As always caveat emptor ;)

What recceguy said.

As mentioned, I have only ever used BB and I have always been happy with it - mycarrier, not so much...but I recently discovered that I can unlock my BB for 50 bucks to the carrier and sim card it all over the world (I travel for work so this is GOOD news)

The only app I use is the NHL one for updates on games when I am away...I will be trying some other ones in the future but can't really be bothered right now - it's a tool, not a toy, for me. Having said that though, it's funny as fuck to turn a voice note someone sends me of a bodily function into their ringtone.

Caveat emptor indeed.

That is just it. I do not discriminate.. I have a Ubuntu box, Win7, Mac Book Pro and I appreciate each one for different reasons.

I find the iPhone lacking in some areas, ie I wish there was a hard button I could program to do whatever I want(much like the BB). But then again maybe I can with it Jailbroken..

Another weakness of the iPhone(unless you can with the 4[I doubt it])

Yeah, Steve Jobs obviously doesn't see the hilarity in this. Or the hours of entertainment it provides.

I recall using the voice dialer on my old Motorola to say "bag breath" about a thousand times (or a thousand beers) one night.

Anyway. Jog on.

LOL, the iPhone/iPad makes me want to punch someone else in the face...

I currently use the Nokia N900 (none of the above). It runs a version of Linux - similarly to Android and is more powerful than my laptop. Battery life sucks if you are running too many apps though. And I can watch/hear any multimedia format. If I had to switch, I would go with the newer Androids.
But that's just me
