Maybe because each participant was a consenting adult, even the  ones that
had a body part remove. They had toGO to that place.

It's not like James Bond in the latest Casino Royale when he's sitting in a chair
without bottom as he received ''slaps'' (?). He clearly don't want to be there.
(and yes, I know one is a movie while the perps are real )

Well they where charged with performing surgery with out a medical licence or something along those lines...If that's all you get as a punishment then that doesn't really seem to bad or "discouraging" maybe they should consider increasing the punishment...

I'm not sure how quiet that neighborhood might have been as they castrated guys in their garage...

Ditto! I would have a hard time believing that this went on for so long without anyone noticing something strange. Especially with all those people coming and going like that, from one house in particular.

Hmmmmmm proudnurse......I think you are the type of person that makes me hate the burbs..........I would say that people and coming from a residence isn't strange......I would call it sociable.  My curtains are closed for a reason......thanks for reminding me why.

2023, as for myself, my curtains are also closed and I don't live in the "Burbs" heck I can't afford it for one thing! I agree with you, people come and go to visit people. I do have company myself... family, and friends. You do have to live your life, without the hopes of someone poking thier nose in your business. What I was trying to say, was in reading the story it would be interesting to know how long something "strange" like this happened before any body noticed. If it was my neighbourhood and I heard that this had happened, yes it would bother me to some extent, as I do have a small child at home. Not that I would poke around for details myself, but knowing the whole thing had happened right next door, would definately make me cringe.
