Soldier fatally wounded in Baghdad

BAGHDAD — An American soldier was fatally wounded Monday in western Baghdad, the U.S. military said.
A U.S. statement said the soldier, whose name and unit were not released, was hit by small arms fire early in the day and died at 12:55 p.m.
It was the fourth death suffered by U.S. forces in Baghdad since Saturday and the 15th fatality among American troops in Iraq this month.
