I really want to join navres but a few things are holding me back, mostly just the long training time though. So, one thing I want to know is how people fit the navres training into their schedules?
Seems like the navres has a lot of professionals in it, how do they manage to take so much time off to train? Seems like diver doesn't take as much time to train, which might make it a good choice for me, especially since I like physical work. Too bad though, since I'm arrogant and I'd appreciate having my meals served to me!
Take that sailor!
Another thing, one of the reasons I originally wanted to go infantry was to go on a tour when I finish my undergrad degree, can I join navres and volunteer for a mission on a navy boat (other than the martime coastal defense ships) for something like a NATO mission with the navres? Also, how is a tour the MCDVs?
Also, as for training on the coasts, how often does that occur, after taking a look at the training schedule for my local navres unit, it seems like not much, which is good, but if you do have to go, for how long? And where would I be going to train if I am from Winnipeg? In the training schedule for WPG, it mentions MCDV Famil, wtf is that? I can't find that ship anywhere. Other than that, the schedule seems to be in WPG, the locations are things like galley, BOSN classroom, MESO classroom etc. etc.
